We do find that most customers will change out their OOFOS around every 6-8 months or when the treads on the bottom of the shoe start to wear down. The bottom of the soles of your OOFOS are grooved for traction. These grooves wear down over time and when they do, it’s time to get a new pair.
We recommend replacing your OOFOS approximately as often as you replace your running shoes, the more miles you wear them, the sooner they may need to be replaced. Let the tread be your guide. For examples of the tread at different stages of wear, check out our blog post: How Often Should I Replace My OOFOS? The supportive OOfoam™ cushioning should last for the lifetime of the shoe. OOFOS don’t lose form as quickly as typical foams like EVA. Wear tests show that OOfoam™ experiences lower abrasion because it moves with the ground and your foot simultaneously. By absorbing impact, OOfoam™ is working “with” hard surfaces rather than against them, which is why the treads are the best indicator of when it is time to replace.
